Belief in the Word of God is a matter of the heart. Does it matter if we believe historical narratives as history? Please, if we can convert a plainly written historical narrative from God’s eye witness account, then the rest of the Bible is up for errored interpretation. And that, my friends, is why American Christianity is in a hot mess, too many have the wrong starting point and wind up east of Timbuktu.
